Hiking

Two Hiking trails are following the Sainte Baume ridge: GR9 and GR98.
Numerous  forest trails are also available and easily reached from Maison Rouge

The Holly grotto of Marie Madeleine

One of the most ancient pilgrimage site of Christendom. The natural grotto (baume in provençal) in which Marie Madeleine spent 30 years of life is a sanctuary held by dominican friars.  http://www.saintebaume.org/grotte.html

 Calanques de Cassis

35mns driving distance from Maison Rouge, those majestic white limestone cliffs overhang dozens of mediterranean fjords. From Cassis to Marseille, one can enjoy 20kms of hiking trails at the very heart of the Calanques National Park.
