Especially when starting. This Escape was traveling North on route 122 near burnt chimney, va. The vehicle is still under warranty but it needed a new engine short block as there was a crack in the short block, causing coolant to leak into the cylinders. Because I no longer have the Escape I am not eligible for any compensation or anything. My complaint is that this is not a recall by Ford. They did provide a loaner and did not know how long it would take to repair.
Had the code checked. I continued driving the car with no known problems or identifying lights that a problem exists.
