We are always looking for new folks to volunteer to help with our programs, services, and events. Typically, calls range from twenty minutes to one hour in length. Conversations are scheduled between the volunteer and the assigned older adult, taking place at least once per week. Volunteer Opportunities Last year, 950 community volunteers made an impact at The Center, improving the lives of LGBTQ people through their volunteer efforts. We are always looking for new folks to volunteer to help with our programs, services, and events. We'd love to have you join our wonderful team of volunteers!Offer social support for older LGBTQ adults who reside in a care center or assisted living communityAnswer phones, provide resources and give a warm welcome to all of The Center's visitorsPhone-A-Friend callers are part of the SAGE of the Rockies program, and are connected to individuals age 60 and better who face challenges leaving their home and/or prefer to engage with a volunteer over the phone rather than in-person. For this reason, GLAAD invests in a volunteer program with the objective of focusing on the recruitment, management, leadership development, support and retention of our greatest advocates. Meetings will include workshops about prevention and a trained facilitator will guide the group through the CTC process. The LGBTQ+ Denver community is participating in a process called Communities that Care (CTC).
